Bhupen Hazarika was born on 8th December, 1926 in Assam. His father’s name was Neelkant and mother’s name was Shantipriya. His mother was the main reason in Bhupen’s journey of music. She introduced the classical Assamese music to him at a very young age. At the age of 10 he recorded his first song.
